Charlotte, NC, August 8, 2016– Cole Glasson returned to Anderson Motor Speedway for the third time this year looking for his first NASCAR Whelen All American Series win. This would be his 9th start of the season which has already seen early success with posting 2 pole awards, 4 top 5’s and 8 top 10’s and coming up short the last few races. Cole would qualify his Universal Construction owned late model in the 4th position with a very tight qualifying field. In the first twin race, Cole would drop back as far as fifth but staying with the lead group before a mid race caution saw him taking the restart on the outside of row 1.

At the restart, Cole would drop down behind the leader and make a run underneath coming out of Turn 2 where he would eventually take the lead at the start/finish line with 18 laps to go. Cole then maintained consistent laps the remainder of the race stretching his lead to as many as eight car lengths before a hard charging 2nd place reeled him in within 3 car lengths pressuring him the last 5 laps. Cole stayed focused on the finish and was able to take the checkered flag with a five car advantage over the field.

Cole finished the 2015 season off with two wins and has followed it up with an impressive start to the 2016 season that has already seen a win half way through the season and a contender at each track he has shown up at this season. Cole is supported by a strong partner network of Prosoap, Starkey Mortgage, Champion Spark Plugs, MPM Marketing, Driven Steering Wheels, K1 Race Gear, Sikk Shades, Notchgear, Dallas Karting Complex, Phantom Race Graphics, and Pat Wilson Graphics.
