Dallas, Texas– Kids Racing for Kids Charitable Fund announced today its rebranding beginning in 2011. The charitable fund was originally founded several years ago by Tim Self and in mid 2010 was taken over by the Glasson family. Since that time, the fund has initiated a new branding and will launch a new website, new logo, and new marketing material. The finances of the fund will continue to be managed under the 503c status of Austin Community Foundation.
In order to expand beyond Kids Racing for Kids and allow the fund to reach all racers and give back to multiple charities, Tim Glasson felt it was necessary to rebrand the name. The name Racers United is synonymous with what the fund did last year; racers from all over the United States gathered as one to give back to local charities. The new motto of the fund will be, “Impacting the future of charities we touch.” “It was amazing the number of letters we received last year thanking the fund for its generosity, and all the thanks goes to the series and the racers,” commented Tim Glasson.
In 2010, the fund raised over $10,000 and was able to give to several charities throughout the US to include CASA (Child Advocates), United Way, Voices for Children, Pregnancy Resource Center, and Young Life. The fund will continue to be managed by Cole Glasson Racing for 2011. Hopes are to expand its reach further with the new branding campaign. Based on a model used in 2010 at the Rotax Pan American Series and Southwest Regional Cup, Racers United goal is to replicate and create a greater opportunity to give back. The target for 2011 is to raise in excess of $20,000 and reach the $100,000 per year mark by 2015.
The 2011 fund raising season will begin at the FWT Rotax Series and continue throughout the year at numerous series. Special thanks goes to Yaani Mai Gaddy of Gaddy Web Designs for the new website, www.racersunited.org and DeFrancesco Racing’s Pam Heron and Andy DeFrancesco for the help in 2010 and moving into the 2011 season.
